Enso
2015
Three ensos — the circle drawn in one continuous gesture, here built up in yellows, greens, and pinks like tree rings. I lived three years in a monastery and the enso followed me home: the mark that records exactly one moment of one hand, never repeatable, never finished. Painting them in oil is a contradiction the Zen masters would probably enjoy.
Three Paintings. Each 11 by 15 inches. Oil on Linen. 2015.
