Lunarem

2018

Twenty-eight moons in their phases, row by row, drawn from the years I spent painting the Earth's oldest timepiece (Cyclum Lunarem, 2014–2018). The moon repeats itself and is never the same twice — which is also a fair description of pulling prints from one plate.

8 x 10 inches. Drypoint Intaglio Print. Handcolored with watercolor. 2018.

Drypoint intaglio print depicting rows of moon phases, from full moons with crosshatched craters at the top through waning crescents to thin slivers and back, arranged in a grid on cream paper in black ink.
